Since 2020, PBI Nicaragua has offered support and international observation to social groups, organizations, and networks of Nicaraguan human rights defenders facing threats due to their work promoting and defending human rights. We aim to continue supporting Nicaraguan voices in exile and amplify their messages to raise awareness of their crucial role in speaking out and protecting human rights in Nicaragua.
PBI Nicaragua's international support includes the following areas of work:
- Protection and political support for at-risk defenders
- Strengthening the capacities of Nicaraguan civil society in organizational tools, security and comprehensive protection, psycho-emotional support, advocacy, and communication
- Advocating with the international community and sharing information with key stakeholders
- Promoting local, regional, and international support networks
